CultureCon
A Contemporary Museum
The Museum of Us was conceived as a contemporary museum rather than a historical one: a space for Black culture to be documented, celebrated, and experienced as it unfolds. CultureCon’s existing palette was used with restraint alongside visual references to exhibition displays, frames, labels, artifacts, and archives. Rather than serving as decoration, these elements became part of the site’s organizing language, carrying the theme throughout the experience without overwhelming the content.

Framing The Past
Past speakers were presented as individual portraits, with a different ornate frame selected for each person to reflect the distinct perspectives, talent, and creativity represented at CultureCon. Custom backgrounds made from three abstract shapes use the CultureCon palette and draw from geometric and Art Deco references.
